Watermelon Rose Fruit Carving

This is a round watermelon that I carved into a rose, this is also a Thai inspired fruit carving. You may notice that I removed the green outer skin of the watermelon but left the white of the rind to ad color contrast against the red of the fruit. Unfortunately, the photo was not taken with my camera and is of poor quality.

These fruit carving photos are from a couple months ago. It is one of my first attempts at a Thai style fruit carving and I did not make a video because I did not know how it would turn out. Fruit And Vegetable Carvings On My Cruise

I know I have been slacking and have not posted anything in a while, I have a bunch of pictures and videos of edible arrangements that I have done in the last couple months but just have not found the time to edit them (I have a lot more fun making the videos than I do editing them!).

I just got back from my first cruise and am working on some new posts but for today I thought I would show you a picture I took on the cruise of a fruit and vegetable carving show that one of the chefs put on. It was not the degree of difficultly that impressed me but the speed that he did it, all four pieces were done within 25 minutes!
