Super Bowl Fruit Bowl Carving

This is a fruit bowl I carved for a Superbowl XLIV party, complete with New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts Helmets.

Vegetable Carving - Goldfish Tomato

This vegetable carving is half a Roma tomato with the skin peeled back and cut to look like the tail of a goldfish. The goldfish's fins, eyes and mouth are made out of carrots and the green in the eye is cucumber.

Sweet Potato Vegetable Carving

This photo is a sweet potato vegetable carving that I tried this week, I used some lettuce and carved them into leaves just for plate presentation. It was my first time carving a sweet potato and it holds up very well!

Pumpkin Carving With My Niece

These photos are of the pumpkin I carved with my niece. I had her practice on paper what she wanted to draw on the pumpkin and then let her draw it on the pumpkin with crayon. I evened out the mouth line (while she was not looking) and then moved the pumpkin saw in and out while she held on. I thought it turned out well and was thrilled with the outcome, although she did not like the part of taking the "icky" seeds out!

Found this pumpkin carving picture while going threw old photos, it is from 2002 and they where displayed on the fireplace of Cracker Barrel.
